TigerScale is the connected scale that knows which spool is on it: two NFC readers identify a tagged spool from either side, it weighs it, subtracts the empty spool's weight, and tells you what's actually left. Open source, MIT, and installable from your browser.

Two NFC readers, one per side, so a twin-tagged spool is identified whichever way you drop it on. No picking from a list, ever.
Real grams, not guesses
It weighs the spool and subtracts the empty spool's weight — no typing tare values, no squinting at what's left on the reel. Then it syncs, so every device you own agrees.
Works offline
Brand and material identification comes from a database in the device's own flash, refreshed at most daily — tag lookups never wait on the network. Cloud sync is optional; the scale is fully usable with no account at all.
Open source, and you can build one
3.5" touchscreen, ESP32-S3, MIT licence, no binary blobs — the whole firmware compiles from source. Flash it straight from your browser, print the case (the 3MF is a download away), and update it over the air from the settings screen. Eight firmware languages, a nine-language web UI served by the device itself. And as always: nothing here is required — the apps track grams fine without a scale.

Do I need a TigerScale?
No — nothing in TigerSystem is required. The apps estimate what's left from every print on their own; the scale replaces the estimate with a measurement.
Can I build it myself?
Yes — it's open electronics. Firmware, design and guides are public on GitHub; the parts are commodity.
Does it need TigerTag chips?
To identify a spool by itself, yes — that's what the two NFC readers are for. The weighing works regardless; the tag is what makes it hands-free.
Where does the weight go?
Into your inventory in the apps — the same grams-left bar you see on every spool, synced across your devices.
Do I need an account?
No. Cloud sync is optional and the scale is fully usable without one — brand and material lookups come from a database stored in the device itself.
